Belmont University Graduate Teaching Assistant
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) at Belmont University, I have had the opportunity to merge my passion for fitness and sports with education. My primary responsibility has been teaching weightlifting classes, where I guide students through proper techniques, individualized workout plans, and the fundamentals of strength training. This role has allowed me to share my expertise while fostering a supportive and encouraging environment for students to improve their physical fitness and build confidence. Seeing their progress and growth has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
Beyond teaching, my role as a GTA has helped me develop key skills in communication, leadership, and time management. Balancing my academic coursework with teaching responsibilities has taught me the importance of organization and adaptability. Additionally, the experience has reinforced my ability to connect with diverse individuals and meet them where they are in their fitness journey. This role has been more than just a teaching opportunity—it has been a chance to inspire and mentor students while refining my ability to educate and lead effectively in a professional setting.
